PREMIER SCREENINGS OF ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER DOCUMENTARY

9/14/2007

In celebration of National Attention Deficit Disorder Awareness Day, Second Thought Productions and Lion and the Lamb Entertainment will hold two screenings of the new documentary Attention Deficit Disorder: Life at a Different Pace on Wednesday, September 19.

A free screening will be provided at Selby Library, 1331 First St., at 1:00 pm and a second screening will be held at Four Gee's Café, 3615 Webber Street, at 7:30 pm with an admission price of $5.00 (10% of proceeds to benefit Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder - CHADD). Both screenings will include a question and answer period with the director and subject of the film, Steve McAllister.

Attention Deficit Disorder: Life at a Different Pace is the story of one man's search for meaning after being diagnosed with a neurological disorder at the age of twenty-nine. Commonly known as a children's disorder, ADD is seen in a new light as Steve McAllister (author of The Rucksack Letters) interviews a bevy of mental health care professionals in an exhaustive exploration of one of the most prevalent mental disorders of our time. Using the diagnosis as a springboard to understanding, Steve seeks out the strengths of ADD to forge a path of hope for a generation of children and adults who have been affected by this disorder.
