FMPTA-JFC MEETING – TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14TH AT 6:30PM

9/26/2008

We have several things going on at our October meeting. First, we will be showing the short film the chapter produced for Hubbard House, “Planting Hope”. The film is a short film depicting the services offered by Hubbard House for the victims of domestic abuse, their children, and even the abuser. The film will be used by Hubbard House in a number of ways including marketing, counseling, and at its annual fund raising breakfast on October 7th. Over half of our chapter members either worked as crew, appeared in, or both for this production. If you don’t or can’t get a chance to see it on the 7th of October, then come by our meeting and see it there.

Second, October is FMPTA-JFC Nomination Month. In October of each year, we nominate candidates for our chapter officers and board members for the upcoming year. We hold our elections in November. Members are encouraged to come to the meeting and nominate someone for office or for the board. Any member can make a nomination but only professional or business member delegates (in good standing for ninety days prior to taking office) may hold office or a board position. This chapter’s continued success depends on you! Be sure to come out and help decide what direction our chapter will take in the future.

Finally, we will have completed the first weekend of shooting for our chapter film “The Cult”. We will round out the meeting with a production discussion and plans for the second weekend.

This meeting is a special presentation of the FMPTA-JFC and is open to the public. Admission is free for FMPTA members, students, and first time guests. It is $10.00 for returning guests. For more information about this event, and the FMPTA go to www.fmptajax.org or email info@fmptajax.org.
